BCEA notice periods
- Employed 6 months or less: 1 week
- More than 6 months up to 1 year: 2 weeks
- More than 1 year: 4 weeks
- Domestic and farm workers after 6 months: 4 weeks
- Your contract can require longer, but not shorter
What to include
- Date and addressee
- Clear statement that you resign
- Notice period and last working day
- Offer to hand over
- Request for final pay, leave pay, certificate of service and UI-19
